Do you want a packed dance floor??

Of course you do! People love a wedding, the romance, the food but most importantly, the party! Unfortunately, couples often make huge mistakes when it comes to hiring their entertainment. Here are three simple rules to remember when hiring your DJ: 1.) Make sure your DJ is experienced. With live events, things don't always go according to script. If something should go wrong, an experienced DJ will be able to make the appropriate adjustments, communicate with your other vendors and keep your guests happy and entertained without them knowing that something has gone unexpectedly. Like Farmers Insurance, experienced DJ's know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two. 81% of guests said the thing they remember most about a wedding was the entertainment.

2.) Make sure your DJ is a professional. You don't need a license or special permit to be a DJ. Anybody with a laptop and a couple of speakers can call themselves a DJ. Would you hand over the keys to your brand new car to a random stranger just because they said they can drive? Of course you wouldn't! So why turn your event (that may cost even more than a car!) over to just anyone because they say they can DJ. Make sure your DJ is fully trained, fully insured and uses professional grade equipment before turning over the keys to your wedding. 72% of couples said they should have spent more time choosing their reception entertainment.

3.) Make sure you like your DJ. It might sound weird but you are going to spend a lot of time with your DJ. If you don't 'click' with your DJ, you probably aren't going to enjoy working with them. A lot of great ideas have come during planning sessions with our clients because they feel comfortable enough with us to share their thoughts and ideas about how to make their reception amazing. Almost 100% of couples who said they booked a DJ based solely on the rate, say they would have spent more of their budget on entertainment.
