“What would you say you do here?”
One of my favorite movies is Office Space and the scene where the two Bob’s are interviewing Tom about what he does always makes me laugh.
“Look I already told you, I deal with the @#$% customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills! I am good at dealing with people, can't you understand that? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!”
If you haven’t seen the movie, watch it sometime, it’s great!
With a name like Music Makes You Happy Entertainment, most people can draw the conclusion that we do something with music. We started out as a DJ company and the name fit perfectly. Music always has the ability to transform my mood and transport me to different place in time, that’s why I love it, it really did make me happy.
However, as the company grew and added more services, the name doesn’t always convey the breadth or scope of the services we offer. Maybe one day the name may change but I’m going to fight that change because I love it and it means a lot to me. But I digress, back on topic. What would you say you do here? I’m going to touch on the services we offer and provide a few details for each. We will get more in depth about each feature in other posts so check those out if you are interested.
WE ARE A DJ COMPANY!
First and foremost, we are a DJ company and on top of that, we are one of the best DJ companies around! We can DJ a wedding, a sweet sixteen, a holiday party, a car show, a bar mitzvah, anything. You name the event, we could DJ it. I think people should hire DJ’s for life’s less fun times too, like wakes, funerals or parole hearings. Who knows, maybe we just discovered a new niche market to explore.
But we are so much more than a DJ company...
We also provide A/V rentals for corporate and special events. We have multiple video screens ranging in size from our 50 inch LED TV monitors to our 130 inch HD projector. We even have a screen where you can place the projector and all the computer equipment behind the screen and project the image from the back so you don’t have to worry about your guests tripping over cables or knocking over tables.
Additionally, folks have hired us to provide sound for their event. They didn’t need a DJ but they wanted to have speakers and a microphone and maybe some background music while their guests arrived. We have done events for the City of Suffolk for their Downtown Revitalization Meetings and the Town of Smithfield for their Christmas Tree Lighting event. If you have an event that needs sound but not necessarily a DJ, give us a call, we can help.
What about our photo booths...
People always enjoy our photo booths and with several different booths, we can accommodate multiple events on the same date. We are also working out the details with another awesome small business to offer our clients even more when it comes to photo booth options! Stay tuned for that!!
maXimus!!
One of the coolest, most unique features we offer is maXimus, our mobile party trailer. This 6 foot wide, 12 foot long, 8 foot tall party on wheels is fully customized with 3 50 inch HD screens, mobile satellite dish, powerful over the air antenna, two working CO2 beer taps, retractable awing, Bluetooth stereo, LED lights and is powered by a super quiet, inverter generator. It can even be outfitted with a custom built, burnt wood bar with Virginia Bourbon barrels, a photo booth inside the climate controlled trailer, video game consoles, grills, tables and chairs, trashcans and even a caterer or DJ. This is a real eye catcher at any tailgate lot. The best thing is, you don’t have to lift a finger to be the envy of every fan there. We arrive ahead of the event, set everything up and make sure that everything is operational for the entire event. After the event we break everything down and even haul the trash away. You can be the talk of the town with maXimus!
The moral of this story, if you are having an event, be it a wedding, conference, party, anything, give us a call or drop us a line, we can help make it amazing! Also, watch Office Space, it’s awesome!
Tom: It’s a “jump to conclusions” mat. You see, you have this mat, with different CONCLUSIONS written on it.
Michael Bolton: That is the worst idea I have ever heard.
Samir: Yes, this is horrible, this idea.
